PYRMONT COMMUNITY CENTRE

The City of Sydney sought to revitalise the historic Pyrmont Community Centre, originally a public school, with a modern, accessible AV system. The goal was to support a variety of events, classes, and community activities across the Community Hall, Community Rooms 1–3, and the Gym. The solution needed to be user-friendly, require no dedicated operator, and enhance inclusivity while respecting the building’s heritage character.

The AVIT Group delivered a fully integrated AV upgrade, including Epson laser projection, Samsung QM displays with BrightSign content delivery, Crestron touch panel control, QSC DSP, Crestron amplifiers, QSC speakers, and Sennheiser wireless microphones. Wireless presentation via Crestron AirMedia and easy-connect ports ensure flexibility for any event. The system was designed for seamless operation, allowing any user to run it confidently without technical assistance.

The upgraded Pyrmont Community Centre now offers a modern, intuitive AV experience that supports everything from community meetings to fitness classes. The operator-free system provides consistent, high-quality visuals and audio across all spaces, while hearing augmentation ensures inclusivity. This transformation has equipped the venue to meet the diverse needs of the local community for years to come, reinforcing its role as a vibrant hub within the City of Sydney.
